Bridge Design

Our approach is to offer a design that will provide a beautiful, functional structure on budget and on time, which will serve its users for many years to come.

The most suitable bridge design is predominantly decided due to a number of factors such as:

  • Individual clear span required
  • Required loading for different uses such as pedestrian, cycle, equestrian and light vehicles
  • Required lifespan and ongoing maintenance costs
  • Budget constraints
  • Aesthetic suitability for the site
  • Safety factor the bridge uses
  • Ease of installation, especially on remote bridge sites
  • Environmental impact for both the bridge site and planet as a whole
  • Construction time scale

We believe there is not just one bridge design that will provide the best solution for all sites, sizes, uses and budgets. Our approach is to offer a design that will provide a beautiful, functional structure on budget and on time, which will serve its users for many years to come.

We can offer a number of both proven standardised designs, and bespoke bridge designs, to accommodate the many different factors for consideration. This consideration extends to deck, parapet and foundation designs to meet the specific requirements of each project.

CAD drawings and AIP forms can be provided with each bridge together with supporting design calculations.

If you have a conceptual ideal and would like to discuss the possibilities with us we will be pleased to help you select the most appropriate for your project, whilst ensuring it meets or exceeds the requirements of relevant British or European standards and codes of practice.
